FORS1 Standard Fields and Stars
The lists of available calibration fields and stars are given here forvarious FORS1 setups, i.e. for Bessell filters,Gunn filters, Spectroscopy, empty Fields for Twilight Flats and Polarimetry. Thename of the Observation Blocks already prepared by PSO and available forany visiting observer is given, as well as some information on the fieldor star. These OBs can be retrieved from the control room in the /home/visitor/impex/FORS1/ directory. For service mode, PSO staff will use the same observing blocks.
Photometric Standard Stars: 1. Bessell filters
Notes: (1)The OB are prepared both with high CCD gain, four-port readout, (2) The coordinates of the field center have been chosen so that a good coverage of the Landolt star fields is obtained with both SR and HR collimators,(3) Reference: Besselet al. 1979, UBVRI Photometry (1979 PASP...91..589B) and Landolt 1992,(4) The links provide Postscript charts of the areas with SR and HR fieldsindicated, (5) Coordinates are J2000.
PhotometricStandard Stars: 2. Gunn filters (no OBs prepared! not in Calibration Plan!)
Notes: (1)The OB are prepared with high CCD gain, four-port readout, (2) The coordinates of the field center have been chosen so that a good coverage of the Landolt star fields is obtained with both SR and HR collimators, (3) References:Thuan-Gunnsystem (1976 PASP...88..543T) and secondary standards (1994PASP..106..967J), (4) The links provide Postscript charts of the areas with SR and HR fields indicated, (5) Coordinates are J2000.
Spectroscopic Standard Stars - and Imaging Standards for Gunn & interference filters
Notes: (*)These stars only have model data above 3200Å, (1) The OB are preparedwith high CCD gain, one-port readout, (2) The OB exist in MOS setup (three5" slitlets) and in LSS, using the largest 2.5 arcsec slit -then the OB namecontains "lss-" at the beginning, (3) The links provide detailed informationon individual stars, (4) There is also ageneraldescription as well as an RAordered list and an RA-Decskymap for standards including the above listed, (5) Coordinates areJ2000.
