Venue and date

The KMOS data reduction tutorial will take place at the last day of the conference (Thursday 6th, 13:30-18:00) in the Old Caouncil room (Fornax), and provides some preparatory information that can help you in following the session with the maximum benefit.

Preparatory information

The tutorial is focused on how to reduce KMOS data by executing the KMOS ESO pipeline and other external tools (such as customized Python scripts) under the ESOREFLEX environment. One or two datasets will be reduced live, and the data reduction process will be explained step-by-step. We encourage the participants to follow the data reduction on their own laptops, so that the entire process will be more clear.

For this, you need to install the latest version of the KMOS pipeline and ESOREFLEX workflow. Instructions on how to install the needed software can be found here:

For those of you that would like to give a try before the meeting, we suggest to follow the instructions in the KMOS reflex tutorial to get acquainted with the workflow execution and basic KMOS data reduction. The tutorial can be found here:
