Interferometry Week
As you are aware, a great number of exciting discoveries are to be expected from interferometric facilities in Chile, either VLTI -today- or ALMA -tomorrow- ... and it is time to get prepared for the adventure! Don't miss it! Hence, it is a pleasure to announce the: "INTERFEROMETRY WEEK" at ESO/Santiago on 2002 January 14-15-16.
These three days will be dedicated to a tutorial about interferometry, from basic concepts to astrophysical programs. The tutorial is targeted towards astronomers who are not yet acquainted with interferometry and would like to become so, students from the universities, etc., and more generally to the community of astronomers/engineers who wish to refresh their memories on the topic. There will be 6 hours of lecture per day, from 9:30 to 18:00, according to the schedule shown below. The detailed schedule will be sent to registered participants.
There is no registration fee, but please register before December 21, 2001, by sending a short answer to Andrea Lagarini (alagarin@eso.org), so that we can have an idea about the number of participants and provide the appropriate organization. Please provide your name, institute, current position, email address, and if you wish to participate at the whole meeting or part of it.
