The Future of UV Astronomy in the Age of HWO
The Future of UV Astronomy in the Age of HWO
15 & 17 December 2025, Carl von Siemens Foundation, München
16 December 2025, ESO, Garching bei München
ESA is expected to make a call for European contributions to Habitable World Observatory (HWO) instruments in 2026. A plausible candidate for such an instrument is a high-resolution ultraviolet (UV) spectrograph. This meeting solicits scientific contributions from the local Munich community: we wish to hear your most exciting ideas on high-resolution UV spectroscopy in the era of HWO. This three-day meeting is hosted at the Carl von Siemens Foundation and ESO.
On the first day (15th Dec), there will be overview talks by invited speakers at the Carl von Siemens Foundation.
On the second day (16th Dec), there will be a scientific workshop at ESO on UV astronomy, with solicited talks from the Munich community.
On the third day (17th Dec), we will return to the Carl von Siemens Foundation for invited talks and discussions by the PIs of various UV space mission initiatives.
We warmly encourage you to attend this event. Click here to register.
