Obscured forbidden [Ne II] emission in the Sy2 galaxy NGC7582
Coordinator: Wold, Kaeufl, Lacy
Abstract:
NGC 7582 has a one-sided ionization cone in OIII and Halpha, but no cone has been seen on the other side of the nucleus because of dust extinction. A narrow-band image centered on NeII and high-resolution NeII spectra will be taken to detect the obscured counter-cone and to study the gas dynamics in the obscuring torus.
Data:
Program is completed and data products can be downloaded
