Registration |
The registration will start at 12:00 on Monday, June 11th. The registration fee of 150 DM is payable at the registration desk in German currency only (cash preferred, travellers cheques and Eurocheques accepted - no credit card facilities available). The registration fee includes a copy of the workshop proceedings, the welcome buffet, bus transportation, and coffee and tea breaks. |

Posters |
The poster papers will be on display in the poster room (room 114) for the entire duration of the workshop. The display area available per poster is around 100 x 100 cm. |

Location |
Munich is located in southern Germany. ESO Headquarters are situated just north of Garching, a charming small town to the north of Munich (overview map). Munich offers excellent public transport, although Garching itself can only be reached by bus in combination with U-Bahn (underground). |

How to get there |
The airport is called Munich/München Franz-Joseph Strauss. From the airport, you can choose between the S-Bahn (local train) + Bus or taxi (fare approx. 65-75 DM) to go to your hotel. If you arrive by train at the Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), you can reach Garching by taking the S-Bahn (rapid transit) to Marienplatz (two stops), then the U-Bahn (metro link) U6 to Garching-Hochbrück (see map below for connections), and from there the bus 291 to Garching. On Tuesday evening, 12 June, a welcome buffet will be held at ESO from 18:45 to 21:00. |

Luncheons |
The closest canteen (3 min) is the canteen of the Max-Planck Institute (see map; number 28 shows the canteen, and number 37 the ESO Headquarters). Opening hours: 11:15 - 13:45. The Cafeteria is open: 8:30 - 11:00 and 11:30 - 16:30. Only cash is accepted. Due to a public holiday on Thursday 14 June, the canteen will be closed on Thursday and Friday. A free sandwich lunch will be offered at ESO on Thursday. |
