Reviewing an old activity for old people

Older people are a segment of the outreach public usually labeled as the “general public.” Seeking to differentiate them within this audience, discriminatory attitudes or actions -sometimes well-intentioned and framed within the “ageism”- often occur. Recognizing myself as a neophyte in the subject, I will introduce the concept of “ageism,” give examples of these attitudes, and show one of the tools used to evaluate negative stereotypes towards old age (CENVE). I will end with a review of the outreach activity “Golden Astronomy” (Antofagasta, 2018-2019), specifically developed for older people.
