Astronomy in the spectrum: experiences, challenges and difficulties |
---|
Astronomy in the Spectrum is a project whose main objective is to design and develop practical astronomy workshops in a pedagogical and playful way, but adapted to the needs and particular characteristics of children from fifth to eighth grade with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in agreement with the learning objectives established in the Chilean school curriculum. These workshops were developed jointly by professors and students of the majors: Astronomy undergraduate and Differential Education from the Central University of Chile. In this talk, we will discuss the experiences of the synergy between both teams in the design of the workshops as well as in their execution with a group of neurodivergent children from La Serena and Coquimbo, IV Región, Chile. Moreover, we talk on the challenges and obstacles we encountered for their implementation, as well as future challenges. |
