Theories of brown dwarf formation and their predicted properties
I will discuss the proposed formation mechanisms of brown dwarfs and their implications for brown dwarf properties. In particular, I will discuss the properties of brown dwarfs that are obtained from radiation hydrodynamical simulations of star cluster formation, and how the brown dwarf populations may vary with metallicity and cloud density, and even how the frequencies of brown dwarfs may vary with redshift.
