The Interferometric View on Hot Stars
Santiago/Viña del Mar, March 2-6, 2009
The meeting aims at bringing together hot star and interferometry expertise, both observationally and theoretically, to review the progress made, as well as to to outline current problems in hot star research that are expected to benefit most from interferometric observations.
The workshop will take place in Viña del Mar, at the Pacific coast of Chile, about 100 km west of Santiago. Viña is famous as a holiday resort well beyond Chile. Since the Meeting will take place just after the end of the Chilean holiday season, most of the tourist crowds will have returned home already, but you can still expect pleasant coastal climate. There usually is very little rain in March, if at all. Located just south across the city border of Viña is Valparaiso, one of Chile's most important harbors and an UNESCO world heritage site for its historical importance, natural beauty, and unique architecture.
The workshop fee will be 100 EUR (150 USD, 75000 CLP), and 130 EUR (195 USD, 95000 CLP) for both workshop and primer session. We have some limited financial support, mainly for students. Additional support is available for students attending the primer session. Requests for support must be submitted Dec. 1 at the latest, together with the abstract of the intended contribution, if any.
