Scientific Drivers for ESO Future VLT/VLTI Instrumentation
Scientific Drivers for ESO Future VLT/VLTI Instrumentation
NEW:
Detailed local and practical information is now available.
Workshop proceedings:
The deadline for submission of contributions is 31 July 2001. Please see the Instructions for Authors.
ESO has a long-term commitment to offer to its community a fully competitive range of VLT/VLTI instruments. The goals of this workshop are: 1) to obtain input from the ESO community on the VLT scientific results and the competitiveness of the current VLT/VLTI instrumentation, and 2) to identify the scientific drivers and the required characteristics of future instruments.
Following this workshop and after consultation of its advisory committees, ESO will issue a letter of intent for VLT/VLTI future instrumentation.
The workshop will take place in the auditorium of the ESO HQ in Garching and will last for 4 days, from 11 June (afternoon) to 15 June (morning).
ESO has solicited contributions from the ESO community and received over 60 replies.
A nearly final programme of the workshop is now available, as well as abstracts of the oral and poster contributions. For each of the oral contributions, the full list of co-authors may be viewed by clicking on the title of the contribution in the programme.
For further information about the scientific programme, please contact G. Monnet (gmonnet@eso.org) or J. Bergeron (jbergero@eso.org).
