Dear Collegue, we would like to invite you to attend the 4 days workshop on "Extragalactic Globular Cluster Systems" that will be held in August 2002 at ESO, Garching. The workshop intends to bring together the experts working on globular cluster systems beyond the Milky Way. The meeting will have a clear workshop character with comprehensive discussion sessions and a limited number of participants (around 60). It aims at discussing in more depth some of the topics addressed last year at the Pucon meeting on "Extragalactic Star Clusters."
TOPICS
The Topics to be addressed are the following:- Globular cluster formation
- Young clusters in mergers
- Evolution and assembly of globular cluster systems
- Kinematics of globular cluster systems
- General properties of globular cluster systems in elliptical/spiral/dwarf galaxies
- Star formation histories of galaxies traced by globular cluster systems
- Galaxy formation scenarios traced by globular clusters
