VLT Technical CCD System
The technical CCD detector system is used on the VLT for field acquisition, guiding and wavefront sensing. Below you can see some parts of the system developed by ESO.
Top left in the photo is the VME interface module for the fiber-optic data link, top centre is the VME transputer module, and on the right is the control electronics box. In the foreground is the CCD head with cables and cooling hoses attached.
