The beginning of ESO (fulldome)

This fulldome video is a collage photographs taken during the 1953 Symposium of the International Astronomical Union, where the idea of ESO was first presented. In the front, on the left and in the centre of the clip, the images show O. Heckmann (Germany), B. Bok (USA), V. Kourganoff (France), J. H. Oort (the Netherlands), and H. Spencer-Jones (Great Britain).
