Gems of southern sky
Part of the southern Milky Way, around the constellations of Centaurus, Crux and Carina. In the center of the image, the majestic Southern Cross (Crux) constellation, symbol of ESO, takes the central stage with dark Coalsack Nebula close by. On the left, brightest stars of Centaurus can be seen with theit typical colours. The brighter one is Alpha Centauri, one of the closest stars to our Sun. Right part of the view belngs to prominent Carina Nebula, one of the most significant of its type in the whole sky. To achieve so many details, the photographer used Vixen Polarie mount.
