Looking down on an ALMA antenna
This aerial image looms over one of ALMA's antennas, while ant-like staff work around it, illustrating its size. Here, at the Array Operations Site (AOS) on Chajnantor plateau, digitised signals are received from the radio telescopes to be processed and transmitted to data storage facilities.
