The Residencia, the hotel where staff and astronomers working at ESO's Very Large Telescope stay, sits under the clear skies of Paranal, with the majestic arc of the Milky Way overhead. The Residencia is an award-winning building that provides an oasis for its inhabitants amid the harsh desert surroundings. Its glamourous indoor also served as a backdrop for part of the James Bond movie "Quantum of Solace".
