The Milky Way above Northern Chile

Despite the moonlight, the Milky Way forms an arch over the site where the Extremely Large Telescope is under construction. This Northern Chilean site has clear views of the night sky thanks to its high altitude and the low levels of light pollution. On the ground, around the shadow of the photographer the very fine dust makes similar effect like with astronauts on the Moon.
