Sun pillar at Paranal
In the twilight moments after the sunset, in addition of a vividly colourful scene, a partial cloudy sky can also produce a light phenomenon called Sun pillar, a vertical shaft of light extending upward from the sun. A beautiful Sun pillar is here captured above the Very Large Telescope array on the top of Cerro Paranal, in northern Chile.
