Questions at the ESO press conference announcing the discovery of a neutron star merger

From left to right, Andrew Levan, professor at the University of Warwick; Elena Pian, service astronomer at INAF-IASF Bologna in Italy; and Stephen Smartt, professor at Queen's University Belfast, answer questions from the crowd at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) press conference announcing the first discovery of a neutron star merger and it's electromagnetic counterpart, the kilonova, on 16 October 2017. Levan, Pian, and Smartt all lead teams that observed the kilonova using ESO telescopes.
