La Silla telescope by night

This is the ESO 3.6-metre telescope at the La Silla Observatory in Chile. This telescope has the High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher (HARPS) — the world's foremost planet hunter — mounted to it. The street leading up to the telescope is dimly lit to avoid light pollution.
