In the pink
The Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs) at ESO's Paranal Observatory work on an ingenious interferometry system, whereby they can be moved and repositioned on rails. In doing so, their total observing power can be greatly increased, as they look out into the Universe beneath the brilliant pink Chilean clouds.
