Swimming pool in the desert

The swimming pool and spa are just two of the many leisure facilities provided at the ALMA Residencia, which serves as accommodation for the staff and for astronomers visiting to study the Universe with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). The other facilities include a library, lounge area and gym. Located in the midst of harsh desert surroundings, the lodgings are designed to provide a relaxing environment for the residents, many of whom have taxing working hours.
