The exterior of ExTrA
Searching for nearby exo-Earths around cool stars, ExTra (Exoplanets in Transits and their Atmospheres) is based in ESO's La Silla Observatory in northern Chile. ExTrA is a new generation of planet-hunting telescopes; three 60-centimetre telescopes in domes that can rotate to capture exoplanets in the southern hemisphere.
