Aerial view of ESO Headquarters

This incredible image from an ultralight plane shows the stunning surroundings of the ESO Headquarters and the ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre — the site of which is signaled by two bright yellow cranes.

The ESO Headquarters and ESO Supernova are located in Garching bei München, along with the Garching campus of the Technical University of Munich, Leibniz Rechenzentrum and the Max Planck Institute for Particle Physics — all of which can be seen in this image.

The river Isar is also visible, seen snaking through the lush Bavarian countryside in the upper right corner.
