Milky Way lighting the ESO 3.6-metre telescope
The ESO 3.6-metre telescope has been observing at La Silla Observatory in Chile's Atacama Desert for decades, having started in 1977. Since then, it has undergone some major improvements to ensure it keeps producing high-quality images of the stunning Milky Way above it.
