Conozca METIS, un instrumento multiherramienta para el ELT

METIS será uno de los instrumentos de primera generación del Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) de ESO. METIS, que lleva el nombre de la diosa griega de la sabiduría, significa espectrógrafo y generador de imágenes en el infrarrojo medio para el ELT (Mid-infrared ELT Imager and Spectrograph). Este instrumento observará el cielo en longitudes de onda infrarrojas para estudiar una amplia gama de temas científicos, desde objetos de nuestro Sistema Solar hasta galaxias distantes. Este documental le brindará una mirada única detrás de escena de cómo funciona METIS, los desafíos que presenta el diseño de un instrumento tan complejo y cómo cambiará nuestra comprensión del cosmos una vez que esté operativo en el ELT.
