Glowing AT

Paranal Observatory in Chile is home to ESO's Very Large Telescope, which is made up of several 1.8-m Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs) and their larger neighbours, the Unit Telescopes (UTs). This image shows an AT with its casing open in the middle of observing the glorious Milky Way, bathed in natural red and green airglow.
