The Very Large Telescope
The Paranal Observatory set atop Cerro Paranal at an altitude of 2600 metres. On the right and in the centre can be seen two of the Auxiliary Telescopes of the Very large Telescope (VLT). Each of these has a diameter of 1.8-metres and feeds light to the VLT Interferometer at ESO's Paranal Observatory. To the left is one of the much larger unit telescopes which has a diameter of 8.2 metres.
