Laser Guide Star at the VLT
A Laser Guide Star shoots off into the night sky from one of the 8.2-metre telescopes that form part of ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT), bathing the enclosure in a warm, orange glow in the process. Through the enclosure's opening, the slightest hint of the familiar glow of the Milky Way can be spied.
