Barnard's Loop and the Magellanic Clouds
A veritable feast of cosmic delights are captured in this spectacular panorama of the plane of the Milky Way as it arches above the Atacama Desert in northern Chile.
This deep exposure brings out an array of sky wonders, including Barnard's Loop — the half pink ring visible above the Milky Way band — and the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds — the two pale diffuse clouds floating towards the upper right corner.
