Call for Proposals for Period 97
Published: 01 Sep 2015
Important changes for Period 97
- Large Programme proposals should include a detailed delivery plan for the publication of science data products through the Science Archive Facility using Boxes 6 and 7 of the LaTeX template.
- ESO strongly encourages programmes that effectively exploit the worst observing conditions on the VLT and particularly on UT3: proposals requesting >1.2" seeing in the V-band, thin-thick clouds and no moon constraints.
- VLTI proposals requesting service mode observations are encouraged as the VLTI will be strongly affected by commissioning activities related to the second generation VLTI instrument, GRAVITY.
- SEPIA, the Swedish-ESO PI receiver for APEX, a new APEX instrument, which can house up to three ALMA-type receiver cartridges, is offered subject to successful commissioning in September 2015.
- A Call for Letters of Intent to propose new Public Surveys has been released with a deadline of 15 October 2015. Further details can be found via the Applying for Observing Time webpage.
