ESO-MIDAS and Python

In the context of the joint ESO/Finland Sampo project a Python interface to Midas was built.

It is called PyMidas and provides (similar to PyRAF) access to Midas via the Python scripting language. Thus you can access inside Python all Midas data structures (image pixels, table elements, keywords, descriptors) as in a Midas procedures.

PyMidas works with versions of Midas from the release 05SEPpl1.1 on.
You can download PyMidas (currently version 1.0.5) together with all information needed for the installation of PyMidas and the PyMidas Users Guide from ESO's ftp server or directly from the PyMidas site.
