Library of Stellar Spectra for spectrophotometric calibration
Library of Stellar Spectra for spectrophotometric calibration
You will find here ascii (gzip compressed) and fits files forthe 131 stellar spectra published by A. Pickles (Pickles, A.J. 1998, PASP 110,863). The paper is available in pdf format. You may also consult the sourceweb page. Please note that the material presented here has been duplicated as is, for reference and convenience of use. Refer to the above sources for more information.
- The spectral range is 1150-25000 Ånstroms, sampling 5 Angstroms. The spectral resolution is adequate for the LR modes of ISAAC, but not for the MR modes.
- Note that most of the spectra have interpolated values in some part of the IR wavelength range when no data was available.
- Fluxes are in F_lambda units.
- The FITS files have been simply generated by the IRAF routiner spectext using interpolation.
- Plots have been generated for all spectra in the spectral range [0.8-2.5]microns.
- The syntax for the file names is as follows:
- ukxxy.ext where xx is the spectral type in lower case letter (e.g. a0,g5), y the luminosity class, in roman lower case letters (i,ii, iii, iv, v), and ext the extension (dat for ascii files, fits for fits files, gif for gif files).
- ukrxxy.ext. Same as above for metal rich stars.
- ukwxxy.ext. Same as above for metal weak stars.
- Files with *_new* have been updated to contain actual H and/or K spectra from Ivanov et al. (2004, ApJS, 151, 387)instead of models as in the original Pickles (1998) paper. Only spectra that used models were updated. A table with a description of the updated files can be found here.
You can also download (tar.gz) all the ascii files (7.3 Mb), and all the plots (16 Mb).
