Oracle have reported a serious incompatibility between macOS Sonoma 14.4 and Java which may result in the OT terminating unexpectedly. Users are advised to update their operating systems to macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 which fixes this issue.

If this is not possible and a user encounters this problem, the OT does have a project auto-backup facility which can be used as a recovery mechanism. To use this facility, click on File -> Open Project -> Restore Project from Backups. This opens another window with a list of the recently worked on projects. Clicking on one of the projects opens a list of timestamps which should allow to restore a project closely in time to an unexpected closing of the OT.
