The European ARC Network invites users to an online training on tclean on  November 25th, 11:00 CET [Zoom link].

In this training you will be introduced to tclean using CASA 6.2. A number of tclean subparameters will be introduced in the tutorial, including the different deconvolution options and an overview of the clean method. We will go through specific examples that include continuum imaging and spectral line imaging that implements automasking. Tapering will also be introduced, alongside a review of tclean’s various weighting options.

Participants who would like to follow the session are kindly requested to install CASA version 6.2, available under 'Previous CASA Releases' on the CASA download page. Data used for this tutorial will be early-cycle ALMA data already used for ALMAguides, and datasets will be specified at a later date.

The duration of this training session will be about one hour. If you have any doubts or questions, do not hesitate to contact the Allegro ARC node at alma@strw.leidenuniv.nl.

Tutor: Ashley Bemis

Note: The tutors' presentation will be recorded and an edited version of the recording will be posted in the Science Portal [https://almascience.org/tools/eu-arc-network/i-train] after the session. The interactive Q&A will not be recorded.
