Latest Comment (June 8, 08:52 UT) : If you missed the beginning of the Venus transit, you may access all previous versions of this Central Display page in the Archive. Today, one can see two small sunspots near the centre of the disc of the Sun. A careful eye, like from an amateur astronomer can detect two more sunspots on the Sun's surface.
Look at the first video from the entry of Venus onto the solar disc . From the display above (which is updated all the time), the VT-2004 obsevers are clearly doing very well - we are only about 2% off! This means that we are nearly as good as the professional observers in the 19th century. Moreover, now we get this result in real time - thanks to modern communication technology - whereas they had to wait several months in those days...
