ESO:n avoimien ovien 2016 ohjelma on nyt esillä

ESO, maailman tuotteliain maanpäälinen observatorio, pitää avoimet ovet yleisölle lauantaina 22.10.2016 kello 11:00-18:00 CEST. Tapahtuma järjestetään ESO:n päämajassa Garchingissa, Saksassa. Vierailijoilla on mahdollisuus kokea ja nähdä ESO:n toimintaa osallistumalla useisiin eri aktiviteetteihin. Päivän ohjelma on nyt saatavilla.
Avoimet ovet ovat osa "Tag der offenen Tür"-tapahtumaa, mikä tapahtuu Garchingin tutkimuskampuksen alueella, sekä muissa paikallisissa instituuteissa.
Jos tarvitset apua jonkin paikan löytämisessä päivän aikana, niin voit etsiä henkilökunnan edustajan, minkä tunnistat nimilapusta ja kysyä. Koska ESO on kansainvälinen organisaatio, niin meillä on henkilökunnassa useiden eri kielien puhujia.
Median edustajia, jotka haluavat osallistua tapahtumaan, pyydetään vahvistamaan osallistumisensa ottamalla yhteyttä osandu@partner.eso.org.
Lista eri aktiviteeteista
Alue 1: Tervetuloa ESO:n
Hae ilmaista ESO-materiaalia, tapahtuman ohjelma ja rakennuksien kartta. Lapset voivat hakea vihkosen leimojen keräämistä varten ja jos he keräävät kaikki leimat, niin heillä on mahdollisuus voittaa lahjoja (lahjat voi noutaa alueelta 17 lähtiessä). Lapset voivat myös noutaa albumin tarroja varten.
Alue 2: ESO ja ALMA näyttelyt, sekä erilaiset mallit; Kysy tähtitieteilijältä
Opi enemmän ESO:n teleskoopeista ja tieteestä. Jos sinulla on kysymyksiä, niin voit kysyä henkilöiltä, joilla lukee nimen yhteydessä “Ask an Astronomer".
Alue 3: Adaptiivisen optiikan demonstraatio
Opi miten tämä kiehtova tekniikka toimii ilmakehän turbulenssin aiheuttaman kuvan vääristymisen korjaamisessa.
Alue 4: ESO Chile Chill
Vietä rentouttava hetki katselemalla spektaakkelimaisia kuvia ja videoita paikoistamme Chilessä.
Alue 5: Kuvakirjan esittely
Liity avaruuskivi Pedron ja hänen ystäviensä seuraan jännittävillä seikkailuilla.
Alue 6: Stellarium ja yötaivaan valokuvakokoelma
Stellarium-ohjelmiston esittelyä, sekä muiden avujen esittelyä, joilla löydät eri paikat tähtitaivaalta. Voit myös ihailla tähtitaivasta.
Alue 7: Tutki yötaivasta
Tutustu tähtitaivaaseen ja opi tunnistamaan kirkkaat tähdet, sekä suurimmat tähdistöt seuraavalla kerralla, kun katselet yötaivasta.
Alue 8: ESO:n opastetut kierrokset
Tule mukaan kierrokselle ESO:n tiloihin ja opi enemmän ESO:sta ja sen päämajan laajennuksen rakennuksesta.
Alue 9: Opastetut kierrokset "European Extremely Large Telescope" (E-ELT) kaukoputken prototyypin osiin ja havaintolaitteisiin
Vieraile koelaboratoriossa ja opi eri instrumenteista, E-ELT prototyypin komponenttien testauksesta ja optisista kokeista, mitkä optimoivat teleskoopin toiminnan. Huomaa! Laboratorio on puhdas ympäristö sisäänpääsy edellyttää erityisten suojamuovien käyttämistä kenkien päällä, mitkä annetaan päähallin sisäänkäynnin luona.
Alue 10: ESOshop
Jos etsit matkamuistoja tai lahjoja, niin tämä on paikka, missä kannattaa vierailla.
Alue 11: Suora yhteys Paranaliin ja ALMA:an Chilessä, puheita ja lyhytfilmejä
Alue 12: Kahvila
Vierailijoille on tarjolla ilmaisia juotavia. Pientä korvausta vastaan voit nauttia kansainvälisestä buffeesta, missä on ruokaa ympäri maailman oma henkilökuntamme valmistamana.
Alue 13: Havaitse kaukoputkella
Jos taivas on selkeä, niin tähtitieteilijät näyttävät Aurinkoa pienillä kaukoputkillaan.
Alue 14: Infrapuna valokuvaus
Ota itsestäsi infrapunakuva.
Alue 15: Nuorison nurkkaus
Näe miten luova, jännittävä ja vaihteleva teknologia on! Kokeile itse: Tule mukaan käytännön kierrokselle työpajoihin ja erilaisiin kokeiluihin, tai vain kysele eri asioista.
Alue 16: Komeettatehdas
Opi mitä komeetat ovat ja mistä ne koostuvat tässä erityisessä komeetan rakentamisdemonstraatiossa.
Alue 17: Kasvomaalausta; LEGO-teleskoopin rakentamista; lahjoja lapsille
Lapsilla on hauskaa, kun heidän kasvoihinsa maalataan erilaisia tähtitieteellisiä aiheita, kuten tähtiä, galakseja ja komeettoja.
