Extragalactic PNe observed with 3D Spectroscopy

We describe our observations of extragalactic PNe using the technique of
3D spectroscopy (aka Integrated Field Spectroscopy). This method
is particulary, and uniquely, suited to observations of sources where
careful subtraction of the background emission is necessary. It is
especially useful in the case where a PN emission line is coincident with
a strong absorption or emission line feature of the background light from
the underlying host galaxy, which would be difficult to estimate accurately
enough with conventional slit spectroscopy.
We describe our observations of some such PNe in various nearby galaxies,
and the methods and results of our analysis. We then calculate the
abundances using the ICF method for some of these PNe.
