This plot
This is the trending report for monitoring UVES Resolution based on QC
parameters derived from wavelength calibration frames (WAVE_ECH).
It trends the measured resolution in the Health
Check calibrations which are taken in one BLUE (437nm) and one RED
(580nm) setting. It also displays a comparison of
measured resolutions to the nominal values.
For these plots, no thresholds are set.
The individual plots describe:
- measured resolution for the BLUE 346.0nm, 1x1, 0.4 and 1.0 arcs slits
- measured resolution for the BLUE 390.0nm, 1x1, 0.4, 0.6 and 1.0 arcs
slits
- measured resolution for the BLUE 437.0nm, 1x1, 0.4 arcs and 1.0 arcs slit
For these plots the value of the lower threshold is set to the value
given in the user manual. The Upper Chip red lower threshold is set to 95%
because of charge diffusion.
- measured resolution as a function of slit-width for all BLUE 346.0nm, 1x1 data
- measured resolution as a function of slit-width for all BLUE 390.0nm, 1x1 data
- measured resolution as a function of slit-width for all BLUE 437.0nm, 1x1 data

Note: The Upper chip R is expected to be a bit lower due to charge
diffusion. This was especially true of the old MIT/LL chip, seems to be better
for the new Upper chip. The resolution for REDU is 5% lower than for REDL
to allow for the charge diffusion
