APEX and snowy Chajnantor

The slumbering Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) telescope sits beneath reddened skies amongst the snow covered Chajnantor landscape. Snow not only blankets the ground, but also the many peaks that encircle the Chilean plateau, including the Licancabur stratovolcano, visible to the left of APEX.
