Investigate XDP sockets as lightweight alternative to DPDK

Picking up from initial investigations done, the thesis should explore the pros and cons of using XDP sockets in time-critical control software applications.
An existing application should be adapted to using XDP sockets, to investigate this technology and compare it in a real-world context
