RTC Toolkit Distributed Timestamp Datapoints
Supervisor(s): Bogdan Jeram, Josef Hoffer
Abstract:
For an AO RTC (Real-Time Controller for Adaptive Optics) it is important to know the time spent between different operational or data transfer stages. This should be implemented by storing timestamps together with sample IDs at different points in InfluxDB or a similar database. It must be possible to retrieve this information (matched by the same sample ID) online or offline in order to calculate the duration between the different timestamp points (stages). The durations should be visualized as diagrams/dashboards in Grafana.
Skills:
- Familiarity with the Linux OS, which is used for developing and running the RTC software.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, the primary programming languages for development.
- Knowledge of, or interest in, InfluxDB or a similar time series database (TSDB).
- Experience with Grafana or a similar analytics and visualization web application.
- Understanding of the software development process.
