The RTC Toolkit Control and Monitor engineering GUI
Supervisor(s): Bogdan Jeram, Josef Hofer, Artur Szostak
Abstract:
The Control and Monitoring GUI, developed in Python using the Qt library, is used by engineers to monitor and control the AO RTC (Real-Time Controller for Adaptive Optics) during development, integration and operation. It is well developed, but some extensions and improvements are still needed:
- Adding support for subscribing to and displaying events generated by RTC components.
- Implementing search and filtering capabilities for component visualization and management.
- Optimizing thread handling and improving application responsiveness.
- Show detailed information about each component instance in the component list, e.g. component type, description, host, …
Skills:
- Familiarity with the Linux OS, which is used for developing and running the RTC software.
- Proficiency in Python, the primary programming language for GUI development.
- Knowledge of the Qt library and Qt for Python (PySide/PyQt).
- Understanding of the software development process.
