Clouds on the Pacific Ocean
This video, shot in the late afternoon, shows clouds on the Pacific Ocean, only 12 kilometres away from ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT) on Cerro Paranal.
While the ocean is almost always covered by a low-altitude cloud layer, the site of the VLT has one of the clearest skies on Earth, a necessary condition to perform cutting-edge astronomical observations.
