Adjusting a LEGO® Unit Telescope

Careful adjustments are made to one of the Unit Telescopes (UTs) of a LEGO® model of ESO's Paranal Observatory. The model was designed by Dutch astronomer Frans Snik, and was assembled by a team of students and helpers of all ages. Each 8.2-metre UT on the VLT platform comprises exactly 3104 parts, and the telescopes rotate and all the dome shutters and vents open and close.
