Panning across the galaxy NGC 1316
This video pans across a new image from the VLT Survey Telescope at ESO’s Paranal Observatory in Chile. It shows a galaxy that still bears the marks of a dynamic history, NGC 1316, which was formed by the merger of multiple smaller galaxies.
