The Trifid Nebula in the constellation of Sagittarius
This chart shows the naked-eye stars in the constellation of Sagittarius (The Archer). The location of the famous Trifid Nebula (Messier 20) is marked. This glowing star formation region can easily be seen in small telescopes and larger ones reveal the three dark lanes that give the object its name.
