The E-ELT’s mirror (artist's impression)

Artist's impression of the mirror of the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) — the world's biggest eye on the sky. Made of 798 hexagons, the mirror has a diameter of 39 metres. The E-ELT will be the largest optical/infrared telescope in the world.
