Fish-eye perspective inside a UT

This fulldome fish-eye image provides a unique perspective inside the enclosure of one of the four Unit Telescopes of ESO's Very Large Telescope, accentuating the structure that houses the telescope's mirrors.

The main mirror inside a VLT Unit Telescope is 8.2 metres in diameter and, despite being only 17.5 cm thick, 23 tonnes in weight.
